Canadian born, Dan spent his childhood playing any and all sports available to him. From hockey to baseball, he always stood out as an elite competitor. Dan found golf in his late teens and immediately developed a passion for the game.

After finishing his university studies, he earned his PGA of Canada designation. He spent 8 years working at GreyHawk Golf Club in Ottawa before taking a position with Rivermead Golf Club and finally The London Hunt and Country Club before moving to Australia in 2016. Since then, Dan has been the Head Teaching Professional at The Ridge Golf Club and joined the PGA of Australia.

Dan has over fifteen years of coaching experience and more than 10,000 lessons. He is one of less than a hundred global instructors to achieve Master Designation status with TrackMan Golf. He is a modern, cutting-edge professional who believes in using all the latest technology in order to identify his students’ greatest barriers to success. Dan has several certifications with golf technology companies: TPI, CAPTO, and BodiTrak to name a few.

Dan is also a big believer in using psychological techniques in order to advance your game. Ever wonder why when you tell yourself not to hit in that hazard, you inevitably seem to find that hazard? The brain is a powerful tool that can be used to your advantage or can work against you. Advanced certifications in golf psychology help Dan to identify proper swing thoughts, pre-shot routines, and practice strategies for his students.

After recovering from a serious hip operation, Dan built himself a pain free swing. He did this with the help of the Titleist Performance Institute which gave him insight into the biomechanics of the golf swing. This allows him to build functional swings for his students based on their individual needs. Whether it be a bad back, hip, neck, or simply lack of flexibility, there is a functional golf swing inside everyone that can be developed through thoughtful analysis.

A word from Dan himself:

“As a coach I’ve always felt that I had to be at the forefront of technical aspects of the golf swing, teaching strategies and technological advancements. My injury issues meant that I would never reach my full potential and took any aspirations of playing professionally off the table. However, I could aspire to be the most educated coach and share that knowledge with my students in order to help them reach their goals. My certifications with organizations like TrackMan and CAPTO help identify swing flaws and efficiently make changes. There’s no grey area or reliance on feel, only hard data. Interpreting that data and incorporating swing changes for my students is my passion. I get no better satisfaction than seeing my clients surpassing their golfing goals”
